Monty Williams fired: 5 Pistons head coach candidates
Chris Quinn
Quinn has garnered head-coaching interest in the past and it feels like his time is coming sooner rather than later. The 40-year-old is regarded as one of the top assistants in the league and has been on Erik Spoelstra’s staff with the Heat since 2014 following an eight-year professional playing career that began as an undrafted free agent in Miami. Quinn interviewed for Detroit’s opening last offseason, so there is some familiarity already between him and the organization. While he would be an unproven hire, a first-time head coach like Quinn could be a chance worth taking for this young Pistons team and he could re-instill some of the toughness and grit that Miami has prided itself on during the Spoelstra era in the Motor City.
