Edey grew up in Toronto and a return home to play there professionally would be a feel-good story for the back-to-back national player of the year. The comfort level Edey would have playing for the Raptors could play a factor in Toronto selecting him if he’s still available at No. 19, but the team could also look to upgrade down low this offseason with a player like Edey. Jakob Poeltl and Kelly Olynyk give the Raptors some size up front already, but Olynyk plays a different style than a traditional center while Edey could be an upgrade on the 7-foot Poeltl going forward. Edey’s presence in Toronto might also open up more space for young star Scottie Barnes to operate offensively.
