Jace LaViolette transferring: 5 possible landing spots

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (BVM) – Texas A&M baseball has had as rough a week as it gets. It lost in the national championship Monday and then head coach Jim Schlossnagle left the school Tuesday for the University of Texas.

The fear was that this would create a mass exodus for the Aggies’ roster. That came to fruition on Wednesday. Top players including Gavin Grahovac, Kaeden Kent, Caden Sorrell and Hayden Schott have all entered the NCAA transfer portal. Texas A&M’s biggest loss is star outfielder Jace LaViolette.

The 6-foot-6 outfielder is in the mix to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 MLB Draft after another stellar season in College Station. He finished his sophomore campaign with a 1.175 OPS while making zero errors in the outfield.

LaViolette is arguably the best talent to hit the transfer portal in recent years regardless of sport. He will of course have plenty of suitors, but these are the schools to watch out for in the recruitment of the premier talent.
