Sean Taylor’s daughter, Jackie, to wear late NFL icon’s No. 21
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (BVM) – Sean Taylor’s only child, Jackie Taylor, is all grown up now and is honoring her late father’s NFL legacy in a heartfelt way.
As a rising freshman volleyball player for the North Carolina Tar Heels, Jackie will wear the No. 21 jersey – just like her dad Sean did in the NFL.
Like father, like daughter 🤝

Sean is remembered as one of the hardest hitters in NFL history. He was the No. 5 pick by Washington in the 2004 NFL Draft, and Jackie was born two years later in 2006. She was only 18 months old when her dad died; Sean was shot as he tried to protect Jackie and her mother during a home burglary.
Despite facing tragic circumstances, Jackie became a successful student-athlete in Gulliver Prep’s (FL) Class of 2024. As a senior, the 6-foot-1 middle blocker helped the Raiders win their first 4A Florida state championship title (contributing 26 kills, 6.5 blocks and four digs).
Jackie wore the No. 1 jersey for her high school volleyball team, just as Sean did when he played football at the same school. Now, she’s fully prepared to sport the No. 21 jersey to continue her father’s legacy.
“I would definitely want to carry [my dad’s] legacy out in a positive way just to keep his name alive,” Jackie previously told Togethxr about Sean. “I feel like after he passed away, yes, people still remembered him, but it was kind-of pushed aside in a way in the sports world. That’s my goal now: to keep his name out there.”
