Ranking the 10 greatest Chicago Bears in franchise history

10. “Samurai” Mike Singletary, LB (1981-92)

Another Bears player to play his entire career in Chicago, Singletary was a second-round draft pick by the Bears in the 1981 draft. He started 172 games during his 12-year career, the second-most in team history. Singletary also finished as the Bears’ first or second leading tackler in each season of his career, save for his rookie season. In 1985, Singletary led a Bears’ defense that allowed fewer than 11 points per game, and in the Super Bowl win against the Patriots, Singletary helped hold New England to just seven yards rushing and recovered two fumbles. When he retired in 1992, he amassed 1,488 tackles, 885 of them solo efforts. Singletary was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1998.
