The 10 youngest pitchers to start an MLB All-Star Game
4. Mark Fidrych, Detroit Tigers, 21 years, 334 days
Fidrych was once one of baseball’s rising stars. He had made 11 starts prior to the 1976 All-Star break posting a 1.78 ERA and a 9-2 record. This was enough for him to earn the nod for the American League. He allowed two earned runs in the game and four hits in only two innings. Fidrych put this past him and finished out the year strong. He won AL Rookie of the Year and was the runner-up for the league’s Cy Young award behind Jim Palmer.
