Chris Bassitt’s trade value rising: 5 possible landing spots
Boston Red Sox
The trade: The Red Sox acquire Bassitt. The Blue Jays acquire Nick Yorke.
Tanner Houck and Kutter Crawford have been pleasant surprises for the Red Sox as they have emerged as anchors at the top of their rotation. Boston could use another reliable starter to add to the group as they try to make the playoffs. Bassitt would help this year and next, giving the Red Sox a great rotation entering 2025 as well.
Yorke was taken in the first round four years ago by the Red Sox and recently made the jump up to AAA. He has embraced the challenge with a .322 batting average and a .525 slugging percentage through 30 games. The second baseman should be in the big leagues shortly, and depending on what the Blue Jays’ roster looks like after the deadline, there could be a spot for him in the majors sooner rather than later.
