Top 10 Indiana Hoosiers football players of all time
1. Anthony Thompson, RB (1986-89)
An Indiana native, Thompson is one of the best running backs to play for the Hoosiers. He led the team in rushing yards in every season he played, recording 5,299 career rushing yards and 67 career rushing touchdowns. Thompson’s 5,299 career rushing yards still stand as a school record and was an NCAA record when he graduated. Thompson was drafted in the second round of the 1990 NFL Draft by the Phoenix Cardinals, inducted into the IU Hall of Fame in 2003, and the National College Football Hall of Fame in 2007. He is the only player to have his jersey retired in Hoosier history.
