10. Alex Smith, RB (1994-96)
Smith is one of the best rushers in Hoosier history behind Anthony Thompson and Antwaan Randle El. He set a Big Ten freshman rushing record with 1,475 yards and his 3,492 career rushing yards – in just three seasons – are third-most on the school’s all-time rushing list, behind Thompson and Randle El. Smith finished his collegiate career with 21 rushing touchdowns. He did not go on to play in the NFL.
