9. Armando Lujan, Sr., Sunray
Offensive production wasn’t hard to come by at Sunray last season and Lujan led the attack with an historic season for the Bobcats. The 6-foot, 185-pound standout became just the third Texas high school quarterback ever to pass for 4,000 yards and rush for 1,000 yards in the same season, joining an exclusive list alongside Tyrik Rollison and current NFL quarterback Kyler Murray. Overall, Lujan had 4,233 yards and 61 touchdowns through the air, completing 65% of his passes. On the ground, the Sunray standout posted 1,042 yards and another 21 scores, averaging 10.5 yards per carry as a third-team all-state performer. Lujan is a dangerous player with the ball in his hands and has garnered some Division II recruiting interest while also working out at camps with Power 4 programs like Houston and Texas Tech.
