3. Joe Romig, OG/LB (1959-61)

Despite standing at 5-foot-10, 199 pounds, Romig was a two-way phenom who earned two first-team All-American selections. He served as the team captain when the Buffaloes claimed the Big 8 Conference championship in 1961, finishing sixth in the Heisman Trophy race that season. Romig was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1984 and his No. 67 jersey is retired by the program.
