NASCAR’s most significant wrecks of the 2024 season
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (BVM) – NASCAR has had several memorable wrecks throughout its history but the biggest occurred this past weekend at Talladega.
At the YellaWood 500 on Sunday, a modern–era record 28 cars were involved in a pileup with under five laps to go as leader Austin Cindric was pushed from behind on the bottom line by Brad Keselowski’s No. 6 car, which had received a bump from Joey Logano. Cindric’s car went flying back into the middle of the pack, causing chaos at the end of a dramatic race won by Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in a photo finish over Keselowski.
Big wrecks have become relatively common at superspeedways like Talladega, but a fair share of significant crashes have occurred at various tracks throughout 2024. Here’s a look back at the most significant wrecks during the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season.
