Canton area’s Chloe Ingold: A black belt in the making
CANTON, Ohio — On the mat, a young taekwondo student has her eyes set on a black belt. Meet Chloe Ingold, a student who has been participating in taekwondo for the last 9 years and has a passion for wanting others to grow in the same sport.
Chloe is a junior at GlenOak High, and has quite the athletic resume; she has participated in gymnastics, softball, golf, and band, and has been a part of 4-H for 8 years raising rabbits and turkeys. Despite all that, she continues her commitment to Open Space Martial Arts. While her ultimate goal is to earn her black belt, she also focuses on helping others through their taekwondo journey.

The most challenging aspect of taekwondo is taking the time and patience to learn the skills to improve and fit the requirements to test for your next belt. “It is beyond frustrating but worth it in the end. You just have to be patient and listen to what your instructor tells you,” Chloe shares.

The best advice to overcome challenges was given to Chloe by her uncle; “It doesn’t matter if you win or lose, what matters is you are leaving better and with more experience than you had when you walked through those doors.” With this in mind, Chloe is learning that it is okay to not be perfect and that she will never be alone through her challenges.
As Chloe continues her taekwondo journey, her dedication to self-improvement and helping others shines through. She embraces each challenge as an opportunity to grow, both on and off the mat. From encouraging fellow students to learning from her own experiences, there is no doubt Chloe will achieve her goals. She hopes to see you walk through the doors of Open Space Martial Arts to start your own taekwondo journey!
