10. Markus Paul, S (1984-88)

A four-year starter and a key member of the unbeaten 1987 team, Paul holds Syracuse’s career interceptions record with 19. He was named an All-American in 1988 and a two-time finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award. Paul was drafted in the fourth round of the 1989 draft by the Chicago Bears. After five seasons, he went on to have a successful coaching season, becoming a strength and conditioning coach for five Superbowl teams. Paul passed away at the age of 54 in 2020.
