5. Dikembe Mutombo, C (1996-2001)
Mutombo gained recognition for his defensive prowess and secured three defensive player of the year awards during his tenure with the Hawks. He averaged over three blocks per game in three seasons and led the league in rebounds twice. His 1,094 total blocks with Atlanta rank third in franchise history, and the organization retired his No. 55 in 2015. Mutombo was a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2015.
