If the Saints want to follow the trend many franchises have in recent years by hiring a young offensive mind, Slowik might be one of their best options. Slowik has been an assistant in the NFL since 2011 and gained valuable experience working under Kyle Shanahan with the 49ers from 2017-22. He followed DeMeco Ryans to the Texans as offensive coordinator in 2023 and helped Houston win the AFC South last season behind a budding offense led by young quarterback C.J. Stroud. While Slowik’s unit hasn’t been quite as explosive thus far in 2024, the 37-year-old has still proven to be one of the top young offensive minds in the league. He would be an upside hire in the Big Easy, particularly if the Saints look to start fresh with a young quarterback in the near future.
