They’ve failed to finish above .500 the past three seasons and while pitching has been their primary struggle, they’ve lacked power from their right-handed hitters. Only five righties on the 2024 squad hit at least four home runs, and the group leader, Tyler O’Neill, is a free agent. Triston Casas has been a solid first baseman for the Red Sox the past two seasons, but Alonso provides more production at the plate.
