Pete Alonso’s free agency: 5 possible landing spots
Seattle Mariners
If the Mariners are ready to open the checkbook, they have no bigger need than an everyday first baseman. They traded Ty France to Cincinnati mid-season, which left a platoon of Justin Turner and Luke Raley to man the position. Turner hit just five homers in 48 games with the team and Raley posted a .570 OPS against left-handed pitchers. The Mariners may opt to stick with the platoon and slot in Tyler Locklear or Dylan Moore against lefties, but Alonso would ensure consistency at first base for the foreseeable future.
