Willy Adames’ free agency: 5 possible landing spots
Atlanta Braves
The Braves have a shortstop under contract currently with Orlando Arcia who also emerged several years ago with the Brewers. While Arcia has hit 17 home runs in back-to-back years, his average dipped to just .218 this past season which could lead the Braves to look for an upgrade. Adames would likely provide greater consistency and would be a big-time bat to add to an already potent lineup when healthy. While his defensive ability might not be at the level of Arcia’s, Adames is still solid in the infield and his clutch bat would likely make up for a slight defensive downgrade. The Braves seem willing to spend this offseason and while starting pitching will likely be a priority, an additional bat or two could be necessary to match the Phillies and Mets in the NL East.
