Willy Adames’ free agency: 5 possible landing spots
San Francisco Giants
MLB insider Jon Heyman mentioned the Giants among Adames’ potential suitors in October and he would be a nice signing as San Francisco looks to get back toward the level it was at a few seasons ago. The roster has changed since the Giants’ 107-win 2021 campaign but they still have pieces to build around, headlined by last year’s notable offseason signing, Matt Chapman, who was one of just three Giants to hit 20 or more home runs in 2024. While several teams on this list already have potent lineups, the Giants could truly use help at the plate as they ranked 20th in the big leagues in average this past season and 19th in OPS. Young shortstop Tyler Fitzgerald will likely remain in the Giants’ plans, but Buster Posey could have a tough time passing up an opportunity to add a consistent hitter like Adames.
