Program Records, Victory Highlight Purple Eagles’ Magnus Cup Start
CLEVELAND, Ohio — Niagara swimming made waves at the 2024 Magnus Cup Invitational Thursday, highlighted by Alaina Pitton's victory in the 50-yard breaststroke and multiple program records from the Purple Eagles. Pitton, a sophomore, claimed the Purple Eagles' lone individual victory of the day, touching first in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 28.61 seconds, edging out Akron's Claire Cox (28.82). Sophomore Natalie Killion shattered the Niagara program record in the 500-yard freestyle during preliminaries, posting a time of 4:52.86. She went on to finish seventh in the finals (4:57.86).
