Smartest NFL QBs in NFC West by GPA, degree, cognitive score

 Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams 

Stafford majored in speech communication, but it’s unclear if he was able to obtain his degree within his three seasons at Georgia. While details about his academic performance remain sparse, Stafford is widely regarded as one of the smartest players among his NFL peers. 

In a 2024 poll conducted by Fox Sports’ Greg Auman, 38 NFL quarterbacks were asked to identify the smartest at the position. Aaron Rodgers topped the list with 15 votes, but Stafford followed closely with 12. His exceptional Wonderlic score of 38/50 from the 2009 NFL combine further highlights his intelligence.
