Greene County Family Feud The Central State University was established in 1887 and is the only public Historically Black College and University located in the Buckeye state, O-H-IO. Originally established as a two-year program focused on teaching and industrial training housed inside the nations first college to be owned and operated by African Americans, Wilberforce University. As in most family situations the cousins’ internal feud led to a split in 1947 with Central State University gaining its historic and glorious name in 1951.
