Top 10 nominees on 2025 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame ballot
Sue Bird
Women’s basketball continues to gain more notoriety and the 2025 Hall of Fame ballot has no shortage of legendary players and coaches among its women’s nominees. Perhaps the best in the group is first-time nominee Bird who is a WNBA legend after starring for the Seattle Storm for two decades. Bird, who currently is part of the Storm’s ownership group, reached the WNBA in 2002 after being named Naismith Player of the Year and winning two national titles at UConn. She eventually led the Storm to four WNBA championships as a 13-time All-Star and five-time All-WNBA first-team guard. The five-time Olympic gold medalist is eighth on the WNBA’s all-time scoring list with 6,803 points and remains the league’s leader in assists (3,234). Her overall impact on the women’s game will almost certainly land her in Springfield at some point.
