Top 10 nominees on 2025 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame ballot
Carmelo Anthony
The group of Class of 2025 candidates features an abundance of notable first-time nominees, but Anthony might ultimately have the greatest chance of becoming a first-ballot Hall of Famer. The 40-year-old’s resume speaks for itself, dating back to his collegiate career where he led Syracuse to a national championship in 2003 as the National Freshman of the Year. The No. 2 overall pick of that year’s NBA draft went on to play 19 seasons in the pros while becoming a 10-time All-Star during stints with the Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks. Anthony was the league’s scoring champion in 2013 and still ranks 10th all-time in career points (28,289). Anthony, who was also named a member of the NBA’s 75th Anniversary team a few years ago, is a near lock to be enshrined in Springfield sooner rather than later.
