Yankees didn’t offer contract to two-time All-Star before signing with Tigers

After seven roller coaster seasons, Gleyber Torres and the New York Yankees are officially heading in different directions. Despite the Yankees’ clear need at the second base position and at the leadoff spot in the batting order, it became evident the front office was not pursuing a reunion with Torres this offseason. That was confirmed by the two-time All-Star after he signed a one-year, $15 million deal with the Detroit Tigers last week.
