Alabama quarterback options for 2025 college football season
Keelon Russell
Russell may ultimately be the future of Alabama football as he has ascended into one of the top players in the Class of 2025, ranking No. 2 overall behind only Michigan quarterback commit Bryce Underwood. Russell led Texas high school football powerhouse Duncanville to back-to-back state championships in 2022 and 2023 before putting up the best statistical season of his career in 2024, throwing for over 4,000 yards, 55 touchdowns and just five interceptions while completing around 70% of his passes. The dual-threat signal caller was named Gatorade National Player of the Year in 2024 as well. While starting a true freshman comes with risk, the 6-foot-3, 175-pound quarterback possesses enough talent to potentially get the nod next fall.
