Alabama quarterback options for 2025 college football season
Ty Simpson
Simpson enters the offseason as the favorite to start at quarterback for Alabama in 2025. The Class of 2022 five-star prospect hasn’t seen the field often in three seasons at Alabama but has likely gained valuable insight while backing up Bryce Young and Milroe. Simpson showcased special talent during his final prep season at Westview High School in Tennessee, earning state Gatorade Player of the Year honors as he threw for 2,827 yards and 41 touchdowns while rushing for 862 yards and 11 additional scores. In three seasons in Tuscaloosa, the 6-foot-2, 215-pound signal caller has completed 29-of-50 passes for 381 yards while rushing for 130 yards and three scores. Simpson’s dual-threat skill set is a nice fit in DeBoer’s offense, and his familiarity with the program may give him a leg up in the competition.
