Ranking the 10 best NFL head coach candidates in 2025
3. Aaron Glenn
The Lions went 15-2 during the regular season and clinched the No. 1 seed in the NFC. Unsurprisingly, both of Detroit’s coordinators, Glenn and Ben Johnson, have been viewed as two of the top head-coaching candidates across the league this year. Despite similar interest last offseason, it seems like both may finally be ready to move on from the Motor City. Glenn played in the league for 15 years before becoming an assistant with the Browns and Saints. He followed Dan Campbell to Detroit in 2021, becoming the Lions’ defensive coordinator. Since, Glenn has vastly improved Detroit’s defense while developing some bright young stars. Injuries have hurt the Lions’ defensive performance this season, but Glenn’s total body of work speaks for itself. He could be a leading candidate for the Saints vacancy, among others.
