Top 10 Houston Cougars basketball players of all time

3. Otis Birdsong (1973-77)

One of the best scorers in Cougars’ history, Birdsong tallied 2,832 points — 15th all-time in Division I history. He is second in the Houston record books in scoring, third in steals and eighth in assists. Birdsong also became the first Cougar to reach the 1,000-point mark — as a sophomore. His jersey No. 10 was retired in 1997.
