Notre Dame quarterback options for 2025 college football season

Several young prospects will challenge Angeli for the starting role, but he might ultimately have a leg up on becoming Notre Dame’s top quarterback in 2025. While he hasn’t taken the field often, Angeli has significantly more experience than others in Notre Dame’s quarterback room as he threw for 504 yards and seven touchdowns in 2023 while completing 77.3% of his passes. A majority of that production came during a start in the Fighting Irish’s Sun Bowl win in 2023. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound junior also racked up 268 yards and three scores through the air in multiple relief appearances in 2024. Angeli, a former four-star prospect and all-state performer at Bergen Catholic High School in New Jersey, may possess less long-term upside than some on this list, but his proven ability to perform well when given an opportunity is hard to overlook.
