Top 10 Texas high school baseball players in Class of 2025
2. Omar Serna, C, Lutheran South Academy
Serna is a part of a talented 2025 class for the LSU Tigers, but he is also one of many top Texas prospects who are expected to be selected early in the MLB draft in July. Regardless of what level he plays at next, Serna has star potential and has proven to be one of the top hitters in the Lone Star State. Serna has also shined on the national stage, particularly at the Area Code Games this past summer where he was named player of the week in August. The 6-foot-2, 225-pound catcher began his high school career at Pasadena Dobie before starring at Lutheran South Academy in 2024 where he hit .465 with eight home runs, 35 RBIs, a .590 on-base percentage and a .851 slugging percentage. Serna is also sound defensively behind the plate and will be one of the most exciting players to watch in Texas this spring.

Headed down to Houston last night to watch the Dodgers Scout Team. Serna was impressive in the box all night. Had a couple hits including a loud 2B to LC. Easy power from the @LSUbaseball recruit and it plays in game. #mlbdraft… pic.twitter.com/5mIUNV53Ec
