1. Carl Abseck, Barbers Hill HS

Abseck’s salary in 2024 was $179,918, which was 190% higher than the average salary in the Barbers Hill Independent School District. 

In Abseck’s four-year tenure, he led the Class 5A Eagles to a 31-17 overall record and made it to the second round of playoffs in all four seasons. They finished the 2024 season with an 8-4 record.  

Abseck will not return for the 2025 season at Barbers Hill, as he and the school had a “mutual parting of ways.” He no longer serves as athletic director either.
