Islanders begin Kyle Palmieri ‘trade talks’: 5 landing spots
ELMONT, N.Y. (BVM) – The New York Islanders are a closed book under the leadership of president of hockey operations Lou Lamoriello, but the reality of their situation is that five teams are in between them and a postseason spot. It makes the most sense for New York to sell.
David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period reported Monday that the team has “started trade talks” surrounding veterans who are pending free agents, including Brock Nelson and Kyle Palmieri.
The former will attract most of the attention, but the latter is still a quality player at 34 years old.
Palmieri has 41 points on the season and has plenty of playoff experience that could help any team. These are the franchises most likely to pursue him.
