Bellbrook HS lacrosse teams prepare for upcoming seasons
BELLBROOK Ohio — In 2012, Bellbrook boys’ lacrosse started as a club sport, with the Bellbrook boys winning the club state tournament championship title in 2015. The girls’ lacrosse club team started in 2016.
It wasn’t until 2017 that lacrosse became a sanctioned sport for high schools in Ohio. With Bellbrook’s historical club teams, Bellbrook High School (BHS) was ready with official varsity teams for both the boys and girls in the 2017-18 school year.

Last season the boys’ varsity team placed first in the regional grid and fourth in the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Division II grid. BHS was the only public school in the top four of Division II. Last season was the best year in the girls’ team’s history. There were many records broken by individual players (both boys and girls) and seniors from both teams who committed to universities to continue their lacrosse careers.
Merit goes to the strong coaching staff and dedicated, hardworking players who year after year come together to enjoy the great game of lacrosse.
Come out to see one of the many home games on BHS’ new turf field! The first home games for the high school teams are Apr. 1 (girls) and Apr. 9 (boys).
There is no reason to wait until high school to start playing lacrosse. The Wee Eagles Lacrosse program welcomes boys and girls from 1st through 8th grade for the spring season. This is a great program for younger players to develop the hand-eye coordination and skills needed for the high school teams!
