Ron Sanchez out at Virginia: 5 UVA basketball coaching candidates
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (BVM) – The Virginia Cavaliers made it official Wednesday that interim head coach Ron Sanchez will not return to Charlottesville in a lead position. The long-time UVA assistant was thrust into a head coaching role when 55-year-old Tony Bennett retired less than a month before the start of the season.
Bennett was with the program for 15 seasons, including the Cavaliers’ national title run in 2019.
Virginia should have a decent crop of coaches to choose from, but these five would make the most sense for the Cavs.
