10 most impactful players for 2025 NCAA women’s basketball tournament

8. Ta’Niya Latson, G, Florida State

Florida State isn’t as highly ranked as some teams mentioned on this list, but the Seminoles are still a top-25 squad and are projected to be a No. 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Anything can happen in the Big Dance, and with an elite scorer like Latson, FSU has a chance of making a nice run. The 5-foot-8 junior guard has been the top scorer in the country this season, leading the nation with 24.9 points per contest. Latson shoots a solid 45.1% from the field and 35.8% from 3-point range while also averaging 4.5 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.2 steals. Latson has proven capable of big games, with multiple 30-point outings and a 40-point effort in January. Alongside skilled forward Makayla Timpson and guard O’Mariah Gordon, Latson and the Noles could reach the tournament’s second weekend for the first time since 2017.
