Similar to some other potential suitors for Williams, Notre Dame should be in contention for a national championship next season in large part thanks to star guard Hannah Hidalgo. However, the Fighting Irish will likely lose several pieces up and down their roster, including senior guards Olivia Miles and Sonia Citron, and veteran frontcourt players Liza Karlen, Maddy Westbeld and leading rebounder Liatu King. Notre Dame has a skilled freshman entering the fold next season with Leah Macy, but Niele Ivey will likely need to rebuild the roster through the portal this offseason. Williams would be a strong target for the Irish as a dominant player down low to help replace some of the team’s departing forwards. Her defense would provide a significant boost in South Bend, and she and Hidalgo could form one of the top two-way duos in the country.
