Magoon Gwath transferring: 5 landing spots for 7-foot defensive POY
SAN DIEGO (BVM) – San Diego State 7-foot center Magoon Gwath has entered the transfer portal and will likely be one of the most sought-after big men this offseason.
Gwath arrived at San Diego State as an unranked player out of Veritas Prep in California, but it was clear he held significant potential. After redshirting last year, Gwath’s upside was on display throughout his first full collegiate season on the court, as he was named Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year.
The 7-footer averaged 8.5 points and 5.2 rebounds while shooting 50.6% from the field. He also blocked 2.6 shots per contest as one of the top rim protectors in college basketball. That makes Gwath an intriguing prospect who could play a significant role for a high-major program next season.
Here are five landing spots for Gwath after entering the transfer portal.
