Silas Demary Jr. transferring: 5 landing spots for standout guard
ATHENS, Ga. (BVM) — Silas Demary Jr. has been one of Georgia’s best players over the past two seasons. The Bulldogs will be without him next season. Demary announced Thursday afternoon that he’s entering the transfer portal while also declaring for the NBA draft.
He briefly considered entering the portal last season, but stuck around in Athens to average 13.5 points and lead the team with 3.1 assists and a total of 58 3-pointers.
“Silas Demary, in the past month, has played as well as just about any guard in college basketball,” Georgia head coach Mike White said after his team’s loss to Gonzaga. “(He) decided to elevate his play, be more aggressive offensively, probably should have been all-league, should have been All-SEC defensive team.”
Demary, a Raleigh, North Carolina, native and former SEC All-Freshman honoree, will be a rising junior if he decides to stay on the collegiate level. For whom could he suit up next season?
