Ja’Kobi Gillespie transferring: 5 landing spots for Maryland PG
COLLEGE PARK, Md. (BVM) – Maryland basketball coach Kevin Willard left the program for Villanova and the Terrapins are feeling the repercussions. Derik Queen is a projected NBA lottery pick and star guard Ja’Kobi Gillespie is now in the NCAA transfer portal.
The latter averaged 14.7 points and 1.9 steals this season and was named to the All-Big Ten third team. Maryland landed Gillespie out of the portal last offseason after he spent two seasons at Belmont.
He is one of the top lead guards available and should have plenty of top schools after him. These programs have the best chance of landing him.
