The former Illinois Mr. Basketball award winner committed to the Fighting Illini in 2021 and lived up to expectations in his lone year with the program, averaging seven points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.1 blocks on 64.2% shooting from the field in 17.7 minutes. Johnson Jr. leaves the school with three years of remaining eligibility and has already received interest from several power conference programs.
