Jans has been terrific at Mississippi State, leading the Bulldogs to the NCAA Tournament in each of his three seasons in Starkville. The two coaches before him combined for one tournament appearance in 10 seasons. Jans was also regarded as one of the top coaches in the WAC at New Mexico State before taking the Mississippi State job. He won the conference’s coach of the year award three times and had a 122-32 record during his time in Las Cruces.
