Papa Amadou Kante transferring: 5 landing spots for 6-foot-10 freshman
PITTSBURGH (BVM) – Papa Amadou Kante has entered the transfer portal after two years at Pittsburgh.
Kante, a native of Senegal, moved to the United States in 2019 and emerged as a four-star, top-100 recruit in the Class of 2023 at South Kent High School in Connecticut. The 6-foot-10, 235-pound center missed his first season at Pitt after suffering a knee injury in September 2023.
Kante returned to the floor this season, seeing limited playing time. He averaged just 2.2 points and 1.1 rebounds but showed flashes of upside in multiple games, including in an early-season 12-point effort against Ohio State.
As a former touted recruit with good size, Kante should get several looks during his stay in the portal. Here are five landing spots for the Pitt big man.
