Dug McDaniel transferring: 5 landing spots for K-State guard
MANHATTAN, Kan. (BVM) – Kansas State guard Dug McDaniel has entered the transfer portal for the second time in as many years after a strong junior season with the Wildcats.
McDaniel began his collegiate career at Michigan as a four-star, top-100 recruit in the Class of 2022. He started 26 games for the Wolverines as just a freshman, and had a breakout sophomore campaign while playing over 35 minutes per contest, averaging 16.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists while shooting nearly 37% from 3-point range.
The 5-foot-11 guard’s scoring numbers decreased in his lone season at Kansas State, but McDaniel was still a key contributor for the 16-win Wildcats, averaging 11.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.7 steals.
While he lacked shooting efficiency this past season, McDaniel has proven to be an impactful two-way guard and could be a valuable piece for several high-major programs next season. Here are five landing spots for McDaniel after entering the transfer portal.
