Ranking the 10 greatest Cincinnati Bengals of all time

5. Boomer Esiason, QB (1984-92, 1997)

Esiason is one of the most recognized Bengals all-time greats who has gone on to have a successful media career following his time on the gridiron. Esiason slipped to the 38th pick in the 1984 NFL Draft, but quickly proved his worth in Cincinnati, reaching the Pro Bowl in 1986 as he threw for nearly 4,000 yards. It was one of four Pro Bowls Esiason reached in his career, while he was also named a first-team All-Pro and NFL MVP during a career-best season in 1988, a campaign where the Bengals made their second-ever Super Bowl appearance. Esiason ranks third in Bengals franchise history in passing with 27,149 yards, and also has the third-most passing touchdowns among Bengals quarterbacks with 187.
