Salt Fork runs a successful indoor track season

CATLIN, Ill. — In March, the Salt Fork Boys Track Team competed at the Charleston High School Indoor Invite held at Lantz Fieldhouse on the campus of Eastern Illinois University. The team left the meet with 12 Personal Records, 21 season best performances, 8 Indoor Salt Fork School Top Ten Performances, and an Athlete of the Meet Award.

Freshman Eli Reffett brought the Athlete of the Meet Award, with the top freshman finish in the 60m hurdles, and setting a personal record.

Maddax Stine was the overall top finisher in the meet for the Storm, placing third in shot put.

Some of the other personal records include Gavin Holmes in the 60m hurdles; Brayden Pasqual, Ezra Reffett, and Reese Weiser in the 60m dash; Ezra Reffett and Owen Frischkorn in the 200m dash; and Frischkorn and Kade Smith in the 800m run.

Several relay teams also had finishes that placed them in the Top 10 of Salt Fork’s Indoor season.

The 4x800m Relay, consisting of Aiden Runner, Smith, Logan Henthorn, and Frischkorn recorded the fifth best indoor time in Salt Fork history.

Both the 4x400m and 4x200m relay teams, claiming the 7th and 8th best results in SF indoor history respectively, had two runners only join the team the week before. Ian Church and Kam Keller joined Cortez Phelps and Xander Swanson at the conclusion of basketball season.

Congratulations to all of these athletes and the other who represent the Salt Fork Storm! Outdoor track season should be exciting!
