10. Jose Reyes, SS (2003-11, 2016-18)

Additional Mets legends like Gary Carter or Carlos Beltran could also be considered for the final few spots of this list, but Reyes ultimately gets the nod as he made a significant impact on the franchise record books during his tenure in New York. The shortstop didn’t take long to emerge as one of the most talented leadoff hitters in baseball, hitting his prime in the mid-to-late 2000s while making four All-Star appearances from 2006-11. Reyes was also a Silver Slugger Award winner in 2006, the NL batting champion in 2011, and led the big leagues three times in stolen bases, and four times in triples. Reyes is also the Mets franchise leader in both of those categories, and ranks second all time in runs (885), hits (1,534) and doubles (272).
