Mona Shores girls basketball gets roughed up by GR West Catholic at Cornerstone holiday tourney

LocalSportsJournal.com The Mona Shores girls basketball team had a tough go in the annual Cornerstone University Holiday Showcase on Monday. The Sailors (2-3) got into a deep hole early and were routed by a hot-handed Grand Rapids West Catholic, 59-25. West Catholic had a scoring advantage of 18-2 in the first quarter and 10-4 in the second, leading 28-6 at halftime. The Sailors pulled it together in the third quarter with a more effective offense but were edged out, 17-15. The production was short-lived as West Catholic capped the game off with a 14-4 run.
