4th annual Hopewell Valley 5K & Fun Run returns on April 18, 2026
PENNINGTON, N.J. — The Hopewell Valley Central High School (HVCHS) PTO has announced the return of the fourth annual Hopewell Valley 5K and 1-mile Fun Run. Scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Hopewell Valley Central High School, the event serves as a signature community gathering to welcome the spring season. Registration and bib pick-up will begin at 8:00 AM, followed by the 1-mile Fun Run at 8:45 AM and the 5K race at 9:30 AM.
The Hopewell Valley 5K and Fun Run is more than just a race; it is a vital fundraiser supporting the Classes of 2027 and 2028. For over twenty-five years, parent volunteers have collaborated with the HVCHS PTO, school administrators, and the Hopewell Valley Municipal Alliance to organize cherished senior year traditions. These events, including Senior Sunrise, Senior Sunset, and various Senior Week activities, are funded entirely through the support of parents, local businesses, and community organizations.
Participants are encouraged to register early, as commemorative race shirts will be provided while supplies last. The event will feature a special “Top Teacher/Administrator” award, and prizes will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three finishers in every age group. This year’s race is a USATF-sanctioned event, open to everyone from competitive runners to casual walkers looking to join their friends and neighbors within the Hopewell Valley community.
Now in its fourth year, the Hopewell Valley 5K continues to grow, marking the second year that the 1-mile Fun Run has been included in the festivities. Organizers hope that maintaining this tradition will bring families together for a morning of health and school spirit.
